MAC Star Dipped Face Compact Swatches | Annie's Noms

Hiya guys, hope you are well. Today I am bringing you some swatches of the MAC Star Dipped Face Compact to help you decide whether you “need” (WANT!) it or not!! The MAC Christmas collection came out recently and as soon as I saw the Star Dipped Face Compact I knew I wanted it!

It’s so pretty and I am in love with MAC’s blush and highlight formulas, they’re great. Their Christmas face palettes usually offer a good deal as well. You get 14g of product in this palette and it retails for £39.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

I was a little underwhelmed with the MAC Christmas collection as a whole this year and this face palette is the only thing I picked up. However, after getting last years face palette (The Shiny Pretty Things one) I was excited to see this years offering as I adore the palette from last year.

As usual, there is a light palette and a dark palette, which is great. I wish more brands would do this as we are not all the same!

The packaging is really pretty too, the outside is covered in glitter and the MAC logo is rose gold. The glitter isn’t smooth, you can feel it, but it doesn’t seem to flake off or leave glitter everywhere. The inside of the palette is black plastic. You get a decent sized mirror too.

You get one re promoted shade and 3 new ones; The shades are Dipped in Stars, Sippin’ on Stars, Show Gold and Hi-Sequincy. Show Gold is a shade that MAC bring back a lot. I don’t actually have it though, so I don’t mind that it’s in this palette.

This palette comprises of two blushes and two highlighters. It’s their Extra Dimension formula which is one of my favourites. It’s glowy, but not overly shiny and I’ve never had a dud in this formula.

SWATCHES

Now, let’s get into the swatch video for the MAC Star Dipped Face Compact. It’s my first ever swatch video and it was fun to make! I’m hoping to continue making swatch videos in the future and to get better at making them! My husband had to do the majority of the editing on this as I have no clue how to do it!

All the shades swatch well, they are lovely and pigmented, smooth and blendable. One thing worth mentioning; Show Gold does have glitter in it. It doesn’t look like it does in the pan, but when you swatch it there are definitely bigger pieces of glitter.

And that’s it! I hope this helped you to decide whether you want this palette or not. It really is beautiful; from the packaging to the shades inside and I’m so happy to have it in my collection!
