There’s truly nothing more infuriating than feeling as though you don’t have the space to live comfortably, yet it isn’t always possible to sell up and move to a bigger home. Figuring out how you can upgrade the size of your home without having to fork out thousands and thousands needn’t actually be as difficult as you might initially believe. There are a few key tips and tricks that you can use to totally transform your property in no time at all. Declutter & Adopt A Minimalist Style

One of the easiest, most affordable options that can encourage your property to feel far larger involves adopting a minimalist aesthetic. Getting rid of all of the clutter and mess that has built up in your home over the years will give you a blank canvas to work from, so start your journey by dividing up your items into ‘keep’, ‘sell’ and ‘trash’ piles to make things easier. The ‘keep’ pile should always be the smallest, as your aim is to reduce the volume of stuff that you have inside your property in order to keep as much space free as you possibly can.

The ‘sell’ pile should contain items that hold some value, and these can provide you with some extra funds to put back into your project! The ‘trash’ pile must always be the largest, though it may be tough for you to get rid for good. Think about the last time you actually made use of an item, and if you cannot remember then this is a sure fire reason to throw it away. Find a recycling centre for any plastic, wooden or metal goods to make sure they can have a new life rather than rot in a landfill.

Build An Extension

The extra funds that you managed to accrue from selling some of your items may be enough to build an extension on your home, and this is the perfect choice to help you expand your property space without having to spend an absolute fortune. Something like a double storey extension can provide you with a minimum of 2 extra rooms, and such an addition is sure to add considerable value to your home. A one storey extension can be just as effective if your budget won’t stretch that far, as you can even utilise a glass sunroom for a whole new feel inside your property without breaking the bank.

Creating a more spacious home has never been so simple when you are able to make the most of the tips and tricks that have been detailed above. Start by decluttering your property and adopt a minimalist style to make the most of your space!
